Patience in Times of Adversity

When life feels especially difficult, hold fast to the laws that unlock the blessings. The greatest good often comes after your deepest trials—but only after you've proven your faithfulness in the darkest hour. This is where the true virtue of patience must rise to the surface. As the Law of Gestation reminds us, everything unfolds in its own time and season. Eventually, you will see the truth in the words: "this too shall be but a small moment;" and when endured well, it can lead to blessings beyond anything you imagined.

Great is the joy of the one who, in times of trouble, clings to hope—knowing the storm will pass. As that person keeps showing faith in God in every circumstance, recognizing themselves as a child of a loving Heavenly Father, they’ll find reasons for humble gratitude, even in the waiting. And that gratitude will shape a better future.

If you're in a hard season, dare to shift your vibration. Allow a new paradigm to take root in your thinking. Choose courage. Choose to believe that life, by nature, ebbs and flows. Even when the rain pours, expect sunshine tomorrow. And when the storms of life pound against your foundation, remember the Rock upon which you are built.

This kind of strength is forged when you set a goal and keep your mindset aligned with truth and possibility. When your conscious and subconscious minds are tuned to receive goodness, the pieces you need begin to assemble—even if you can't yet see them. Every generation has faced its own perils; discouragement and doubt have always been the easy path, because they require nothing of you. But faith, hope, and persistence? They require intention, strength, and resolve. And the bigger your dream, the more resistance you’ll likely face. That’s the Law of Polarity in motion.

But take heart. The God of our spirits says, "Draw near unto me and I will draw near unto you" (Doctrine and Covenants 88:63). Notice the beauty in His invitation—it is never forced. You are free to choose, to act, and not to be acted upon. Even God does not force your hand toward your goals; He waits for you to move in faith. That is faith in action: drawing near to your desires, so they can begin to draw near to you.

You can’t force your dreams to arrive, but you can meet them halfway. They come in their own time. But when you keep walking in their direction, eventually they arrive with fruit ripe for the picking.

Patience is the virtue that unlocks the blessings you seek. “Wait on the Lord” (Psalm 37:34). Prove you will—by expressing sincere gratitude for all you've endured, and for the strength God has given you to keep going. Patience is the key that unlocks the door. Gratitude is the handle you must turn.

Together, they open the way to everything you’ve hoped for.
