Overcoming the Fear of Public Speaking

In high school, I couldn’t stand science. I’d roll my eyes and think, “What am I going to use this for?” Little did I know that, forty years later, I’d be bringing it up in conversations about the Laws of the Universe. Go figure.
One of those laws is the Law of Vibration, which states: “Everything vibrates, nothing rests.” Okay... so what?
Well, it turns out that everything in the universe—objects, thoughts, emotions—is in a constant state of vibration. If we were to zoom all the way down to the molecular level, we’d see atoms in constant motion. What looks solid is actually vibrating at a slower frequency, while gases vibrate at a much higher rate. The rate of vibration is what separates the physical from the nonphysical.
Let’s apply this to something relatable: the fear of public speaking—a fear shared by roughly 75% of people.
According to the Law of Vibration, the more we dwell on a thought, the more we amplify its vibration, and the faster it starts to show up in our physical reality. If your focus is on getting over the fear of public speaking, then guess what? You’re still focusing on fear—and fear multiplies. But if your focus is on delivering a powerful, successful speech, then that becomes what you're more likely to manifest. That’s why cognitive-behavioral therapy, the most common treatment for this fear, focuses on replacing fearful thoughts with more constructive, positive ones.
When I made the decision to overcome my own fear of public speaking, I realized I had to “change my vibration” around it. I saw clearly that I was stuck in a loop of negative thinking—and if I wanted a different outcome, I needed different thoughts. I had to actively create new, empowering experiences and let go of the old, paralyzing ones.
