Music and the law of vibration

Is there a song that, the moment it starts playing, you can’t help but jam along? Maybe you bob your head, tap your toes, or break into a full smile. Life just feels a little bit better—even if just for those few minutes.

Or maybe you’ve had this happen: you hear a song unexpectedly, and suddenly you're transported to a very specific moment in time. In an instant, you're reliving memories from years—or even decades—ago.

Then there are the songs you can’t turn off fast enough. You feel a little uncomfortable or unsettled. Maybe it’s the lyrics. Maybe it’s the beat. Maybe you can’t even explain why—you just know: “nope, not today.”

These are all powerful examples of how music influences our vibration.
Yes—your actual, physical and emotional vibration can shift with just a song. It’s real. And if you ask me, it’s a little bit magical.

Magic? Yes. But don’t just take my word for it—let me show you. All I ask is that you take this short journey with me.

Now, I know it’s tricky for me to show something through written words, so I’m inviting you to really imagine. Visualize. Feel. Put yourself inside the music. And if you have any of these songs nearby, go ahead and hit play.

Try this:
🎵 Eye of the Tiger (1982)
🎵 Danger Zone (Top Gun, 1987)
🎵 Stayin’ Alive (Saturday Night Fever, 1977)
🎵 Ghostbusters (1983)
🎵 Footloose (1984)

Pick one. Let it run through your head. Sing the lyrics. Find the beat. Doesn’t it make you want to move? To laugh or smile? Can you feel that shift in your energy? That’s your vibration changing! If you’re not feeling it yet—close your eyes. Let it take over. Let your body respond.

Now… let’s change the mood.

And I'm proud to be an American
Where at least I know I'm free
And I won't forget the men who died
Who gave that right to me
And I'd gladly stand up next to you
And defend Her still today
'Cause there ain't no doubt
I love this land
God Bless the U.S.A.

That line alone can stir deep emotion in so many of us. If you’re in another country, think of your own national anthem or a song that stirs up loyalty, reverence, or pride. When you really let yourself feel the message and music, you may sense a lump in your throat… a tear… a rush of emotion in your chest. That’s not just sentimentality—that’s your vibration changingIsn’t that neat? I dare say...a little magical!?

Hum your favorite old love song.
Recall a lullaby your parent or grandparent used to sing.
Think about the hymn that touched your heart as a child.
Play your favorite movie’s soundtrack.
Sing your school’s fight song.

Let those melodies carry you back, stir you up, or lift you forward. What you’re feeling isn’t random—it’s resonance. It’s the vibration of your body shifting in response to something deeply powerful.

Thank you for trusting me and coming along for that ride. The Law of Vibration is one of my favorites. I love knowing I can lift myself almost anytime—without needing anything more than a song.

Music doesn’t just entertain—it transforms.

In fact, I can say with complete honesty: music saved my life.

Several years ago, I found myself in an incredibly dark place. After almost 20 years of silently battling mental illness, I hit a point where I truly believed I had fought the good fight… and lost. I felt done. The weight of pretending everything was okay had become unbearable. I wanted to sleep and never wake up.

And then… something magical happened.

A song came on. And for some reason, I really heard the lyrics.
I played it again. I looked up the words. I read them.
Then I found another song.
And another.

Almost every day, a different song would find me—sometimes old, sometimes new—but always with a message I needed. And every time, a tiny part of me would shift.

There were lyrics that made me reconsider.
That gave me pause.
That invited me—gently, patiently—back to life.
It took weeks, but eventually, I decided:
I would live.
Not because everything felt better, but because I was still alive. And maybe, just maybe, that meant there was still more of my story to live out.

I’m not ready to tell the full story of that chapter yet, but here are some of the songs that carried me when I couldn’t carry myself. If you listen closely, you might catch the lyrics that whispered hope back into my soul:

  • (It’s Gonna Be) Okay – The Piano Guys

  • Chasing the Sun – Sara Bareilles

  • Glorious – David Archuleta

  • Wonderful Life (Mi Oh My) – Matoma

  • The Mountain – Three Days Grace

  • Ordinary Miracle – Sarah McLachlan

  • I Am Enough – Daphne Willis

  • She Used to Be Mine – Sara Bareilles

  • Palladio – Escala

  • Princess – Galen Crew

So the next time you feel low, stuck, or unsure, try this:
Play something.
Sing out loud.
Let the beat change your breath.
Let the melody move your spirit.
Let the vibration pull you back into the light.

You don’t have to have it all figured out.
You just have to be willing to listen.

And sometimes, that's enough to save you.
