Holding the right environment for idea seeds

guest posts law of perpetual transmutation Mar 01, 2020

By Elise Adams

I have a fruit basket that sits on my kitchen counter. Sometimes it’s filled with vibrant apples, oranges, bananas, and other colorful fruits. Over time, I’ve noticed something interesting: each piece of fruit has a window of optimal quality.

Take avocados, for example. When I first buy them, they’re usually rock hard—not exactly ideal for family dinner. But if I wait a few days, they ripen, soften, and reach that perfect moment where they’re just right for tacos, sandwiches, or a fresh salad. Wait too long, though, and I’m left with a mushy, brown mess that's more disappointing than delicious. Bananas follow a similar pattern: too early, and they’re hard and bitter; too late, and they’re best suited for banana bread or a smoothie.

These are simple, everyday examples of The Law of Perpetual Transmutation in action. That’s exactly why I started with something relatable like a piece of fruit—because even though this law has a complex name, it’s happening all around us.

Let’s break it down.

Perpetual means: continuing forever, everlasting, occurring continually.
Transmutation means: the action of changing.

So together, the Law of Perpetual Transmutation is the everlasting action of change. In other words, everything—ideas, energy, prosperity, life itself—is either coming into physical form or going out of it. Nothing ever stays the same.

Let’s go back to that fruit on my counter. From the moment it began as a seed, it was in the process of coming to life. If that seed hadn’t been placed in the right environment—soil, water, sunshine—it wouldn’t have grown. It would have withered and died. That’s easy to understand because we’ve all seen seeds grow into plants and produce fruit.

But what if we applied this same principle to our thoughts? What if we saw our ideas, hopes, and dreams—or even our fears, doubts, and limiting beliefs—as seeds?

Here’s the truth: everything is either coming or going. When we feed an idea—say, a dream vacation or a vision of financial abundance—with belief, time, and energy, it begins to grow. By law, it will eventually become reality. But when we give our energy to thoughts of failure, misfortune, or despair, we unknowingly nurture those outcomes too.

Whether we realize it or not, we are the gardeners of our minds. We’re constantly choosing the environment in which our thoughts either flourish or fade.

That truth can be empowering—or sobering. But the beauty of it is, we get to choose.

We can choose to believe in abundance. We can choose to nurture the dreams and desires that lift us up. Or not. We can shape the environment of our minds to grow joy, success, and peace—or let it default to fear and scarcity.

So next time your thoughts start drifting toward fear or doubt, don’t entertain them. Drop-kick those ideas right out of your mind! Instead, invite in thoughts of increase, joy, and prosperity. Focus on them. Believe in them. And, over time, they will take root and grow—from seed, to fruit, to reality in your life.
