Getting Tires For My Car
Aug 20, 2010

The tires on our Suburban were dangerously worn—barely any tread left. But we couldn’t afford new ones. At that time, I had been unemployed for almost two years. Our income was nonexistent, and money was tighter than ever.
As I was learning about the Law of Perpetual Transmutation, I decided to put it to the test by trying to manifest new tires for our Suburban. I wrote down my goal, complete with a target date. I expressed gratitude for the tires we had, and also for the miracle that would bring us new ones. I made it clear that we wanted these tires so we could feel safe and at peace driving our family, especially with winter coming. In my mind’s eye, I saw the Suburban lifted on the hoist, new tires being installed. I pictured my wife and kids excited and happy about the change. I felt the peace and joy of this miracle unfolding for us.
The date I wrote down came and went. Frustration crept in, and I even felt moments of embarrassment. But I held on to my belief that it could happen. I kept visualizing, feeling, and trusting.
During this time, a friend offered me some very part-time work, which I gratefully accepted. It paid little and was irregular, but it was more than I had. A few weeks later, I had a couple of checks from him waiting to be cashed. Around the same time, another friend offered me additional part-time work, which I also accepted.
Then, out of the blue, we received a coupon from a tire store. My wife suggested we go check the prices. We did, and learned new tires would cost $485. Our tires were so bad my wife insisted we just had to do it. So we left the car there.
When I got home, I realized I hadn’t cashed those two checks from my first friend—and now had a third from the second friend. Adding them up, it came to $450. That felt good, even though we were $35 short. When I returned to pay for the tires, the attendant told us about an extra discount if we opened a store credit card. I didn’t think I’d qualify—after two years of unemployment—but we did! With the discount, the final price dropped to $446. I couldn’t believe it. It was incredible.
Since we were unemployed, the money for the tires could have gone to bills or other necessities. Some might argue that we didn’t truly manifest new tires, or that my goal wasn’t specific enough to include money for bills. But regardless, we received exactly what I’d written down and visualized.
This experience taught me several important lessons. The Law of Perpetual Transmutation—how thoughts move from idea to reality—is real and it works. I learned we must be clear and specific about what we want. Most importantly, I discovered the power of belief. You can write down your goals and visualize them all day long, but if you don’t truly believe they will happen, they won’t. What we believe will be. We must accept our desires as real and true without reservation. Then, after we’ve done everything required of us, our goals will become reality.
