Coming to Terms with the Trickiest Law

The Law of Gestation has been the trickiest of the universal laws for me to work with—mostly because it demands time and patience, two things I’m still learning to embrace. This law teaches that everything in nature unfolds over time. In simpler terms? Take a breath. Things take a minute—or many—to grow into what they’re meant to be.
It also states that there's a set amount of time required for an idea to move from conception to full maturity—if we nourish the seed. And for me, that’s the comforting part: it promises there’s a light at the end of the tunnel, as long as we stay with it. I’ve seen this law quietly working in my life as I’ve tried to apply all the universal laws in a more deliberate way.
At first, I felt so frustrated by how long it was taking to really let go of old patterns and embrace new ones. I thought I’d make major shifts quickly—leaps and bounds, right? But with only a few exceptions, that hasn’t been how it’s worked for me. Instead, it’s been a slow and steady evolution. I had to come to terms with the fact that reprogramming the thoughts and beliefs I’d carried for years… was going to take some time.
I’d pick a specific fear or belief I wanted to change and start working on it, only to feel stuck. Weeks—sometimes months—would pass without any noticeable progress. It was disheartening. But every time I kept the faith, every time I continued to trust that the inner work was doing something… eventually, a shift would happen. And when it did, all that quiet persistence? Totally worth it. At that point, how long it took didn’t matter anymore.
I became more aware of my thoughts than I’d ever been—and wow, it took more energy and focus than I expected. But once I finally accepted that there’s a limited, necessary window of time to see results—that it’s built into the process—I started to feel peace.
That peace changed everything. One thing I’ve learned: approaching your goals from a grounded, peaceful state will always get you further than trying to scramble your way there in a panic.
And the best part? I can now laugh at the irony that it took me so much time to accept that achieving my goals… would take time.
