Where Will the Money Come From?
Mar 05, 2011
A student once challenged my mentor Bob Proctor about the promise that God's Universe is abundant and that He promises to provide all that we'll ever need. Not seeing abundance in his own life, the student asked, “Where will the money come from?”
Bob Proctor famously answered, “Wherever it is now.”
That simple phrase has transformed countless lives because it breaks one of the biggest illusions around money: a belief that it isn’t there.
Even Jesus made this point in a beautifully literal way. When Peter was asked to pay the temple tax, Jesus didn’t scramble to find coins lying around or stress about the lack of funds. Instead, He said, “Go to the sea, cast a hook, and take up the fish that first comes up; and when you open its mouth, you’ll find a coin. Take that and give it to them for Me and you.”
Why a fish?
Why not a nearby purse or a helpful friend? Because the lesson wasn’t about the coin, it was about trust. Jesus was showing His disciples that the supply already exists, even in the most unexpected places. The goal wasn’t to obsess over the provision but to handle it, pay what was due, and get back to what really matters: the work of the Kingdom. Most of all, to trust that the provision we need could literally come from anywhere.
Money Already Exists - For You
If the Universe is truly abundant and overflowing with prosperity and opportunities for increase, have you ever wondered - where is all that money hiding?
It’s already circulating.
Somewhere, right now, the amount you need exists, in someone’s wallet, in a transaction yet to occur, in an idea waiting to be acted upon, or in a door not yet opened. The key is aligning yourself to the laws so you can receive it.
We've had students report that the money they needed showed up in an envelope at their door, hidden in a game of monopoly, through a creative trade of non-monetary assets, or as an unexpected benefit from an insurance payout. One student reported a $20 bill falling from the sky. One time a stranger's purebred dog got loose and found its way to our mutt, yielding an unexpected $400 in puppy sales a few months later, when we would have otherwise come up short. (The provision you need, in fact, is already underway so that it can be available to you when you need it.

But more often, it comes through an idea, a spark that reveals a unique contribution you could make in exchange for payment. What existing problem are you uniquely equipped to solve? When my husband lost his job years ago and offered his handyman services to our neighborhood - he brought in more that week than I think even he expected would be possible.
The more you unleash your creativity to build a variety of income sources, the easier it is to believe money could come through any one of them. But even before they exist, the answer remains the same: the money will come from wherever it is now - even if it has to be from a fish.
The shift we all need happens as we raise our awareness. When we begin to see money as energy, always in motion, flowing toward ideas, people, and purposes, we increase our capacity to be open and ready to receive it.
Look around - people make money in astonishingly creative ways every day. Someone earns a living carving soap, another by walking dogs in the rain, another by sharing their story online. The possibilities are infinite because the Universe is infinite. This one sold tumbleweeds.
The Laws Are Constant
A person doesn’t lack because there is lack - the Universe is truly abundant. Lack of money usually happens when someone unknowingly breaks one or more of the 7 Laws of Prosperity. Once you understand and align with them, the heavens open and resources flow more freely.
That doesn’t mean it’s always easy - but it does mean the more you learn and live by true principles, the fear of not having enough money no longer has to control you.
