“To every thing there is a season!” Ecclesiastes 3:1

On a cold evening, sitting in a sacred place, my husband and I felt a strong prompting—we needed to move to Hawaii. And not just move... we needed to start pursuing jobs right away. So, right then and there, we started searching! At first, nothing seemed to match my husband’s expertise. But the feeling was so strong, so undeniable, that we kept at it with full faith and determination.

I was having the time of my life dreaming about it. I was excited, giddy—I couldn’t stop thinking or talking about it! We were so sure it was going to happen that we even vlogged about it on our YouTube channel. Our followers would excitedly ask how things were coming and whether we had found a job yet. We’d match their energy and say, “Not yet, but soon!” I could see it. I could feel it. I saw my kids thriving there, I saw us serving the people, supporting the young students. My heart was bursting with anticipation—I just knew it was going to happen and I couldn’t wait to watch it unfold.

A few months later, jobs started to pop up and my husband applied to many of them. We even decided to fly out spontaneously to network and create connections—anything that would help us find our perfect opportunity. When we landed in the exact city we felt drawn to, it instantly felt like home.

While there, we met with the schools our kids would attend. We told them we’d be moving that fall and gathered all the registration materials. We met new friends who had heard our story—they welcomed us, showed us around the town, and even fed us. Everything was lining up so perfectly, it was like a dream. We were buzzing with excitement, eager to see how it would all come together.

When we returned home, Hawaii had already become a part of us. I could remember the smells, visualize the kids’ schools, the grocery store, the gas station, the restaurants... and hopefully, my husband's future workplace. It felt real. I was so excited!

Then... nothing. Weeks passed. Then months. One door after another closed. We were eventually down to two choices: take the plunge and move without a home or job (we were game—adventure is kind of our thing!), or stay put and wait.

We sought guidance from a trusted spiritual authority, and his counsel was clear: wait. Maybe God's timing was at work here. So we did just that.

Two years went by. Nothing.

Then, one December day, we got the message—there was a job opening in the exact department my husband had been searching for. He applied and got an interview. It went great! Then came a second interview—also great! In fact, it went so well that he was chosen as one of two finalists to be flown out to Hawaii for four days of intense interviews and presentations.

Before we knew it, we were back in Hawaii—being treated so well, having everything paid for, and meeting incredible people. It felt like the dream was finally coming true. The interviews went beautifully. They were even spiritual. It truly felt like we were meant to be there. So naturally, we knew we’d be chosen for the position.

Once we got home, we got right to work. We started preparing our house to rent, ordered our transportation pod, looked into selling our car—we were all in. The only thing left was the call confirming the job.

Finally, the call came.

The answer was, “No.”

What?? Really??

We were stunned. It made no sense! We had done everything right. If ever there was a time we had applied Rare Faith, it was this. I now call this experience “Rare Faith on Steroids.”

And you know what? We’re still not there.

But we know—with absolute certainty—that we’re supposed to be there one day. We just don’t know when. I now understand that the Law of Gestation is at play here. If it were time, we’d already be there. The seed has been planted. The timing just isn’t right—yet.

But it’s coming. I know it. And when it finally does… it will all make perfect sense.
