The Science of Wealth and Success - Part II of III

In Part I of this article, you learned that there is a cause and effect to everything in life. Every result in your life—every outcome, every circumstance—has one root cause: your thoughts.
Your thoughts are the cause.
Your results are the effect.
Now, you might be thinking,
"Wait, if it’s all about my thoughts, does that mean I don’t have to do anything else? Can I just think something into existence?"
Great question.
Think of it like this: A seed, by itself, doesn’t do much. If it stays a seed and is never planted or nourished, it’s of no value.
But that seed holds a blueprint. A potential. A promise of something greater—if it’s nurtured.
Your thoughts are exactly like those seeds. They carry the blueprint for your future results. The life you desire starts as a single, planted thought.
The effects you experience are just mirror images of those thought-seeds, brought to life.
So:
👉 Decide what it is you want.
👉 Plant the seed—by thinking the thought.
👉 Nourish it—by feeding it focus, emotion, repetition, and aligned action.
Here’s another way to see it:
Your mind is like a computer. Different programs produce different results.
Want to write? Open Word.
Want to manage money? Use Quicken.
Want to email someone? Use your email app.
Each program has a purpose and leads to a specific outcome.
Your mind works the same way.
You have to choose the “mental program” that aligns with the result you want. Choose the thoughts that match your goal, and feed only those thoughts.
Now picture holding a handful of different seeds from various plants. Just by looking at them, could you tell what they’ll grow into? Probably not. But they know. They carry within them a specific design, and when planted, that’s what they’ll become.
The same goes for your mind.
But here’s the problem:
Most people allow random seeds into their minds without ever questioning what they are or what they’ll become. Thoughts from the news, fear-based conversations, doubt, past failure—all these stray seeds get planted, and then we hope something good grows.
We can’t live like that anymore.
We must consciously choose what we want to grow in our lives and deliberately plant only those thoughts.
If weeds pop up?
Pull them.
No dandelions unless that’s what you want.
You might say,
"Well, I’ve had plenty of thoughts that never came true—and I’ve had things show up in my life that I never wanted. So how does that work?"
Here’s the truth:
Not every thought you think gets planted.
Only your dominant, repeated thoughts—the ones you feel emotionally—take root and grow.
Worry, anxiety, fear, frustration—these are powerful emotional fertilizers. When you dwell emotionally on what you don’t want, those are the seeds that grow the fastest.
For example:
Someone says they want to lose weight. They start eating healthier, they even exercise. But underneath, they’re constantly worried it won’t last.
They’re afraid they’ll gain it all back.
They obsess over failure.
Or someone is working hard to pay off debt—but all they think about, day in and day out, is the mountain of debt itself. They stress, they fear, they obsess.
And what happens? They attract more debt.
Why? Because they were nurturing the wrong seed.
Instead of obsessing over the debt, what if they focused on financial freedom?
That shift in focus would still address the debt, but in a completely different energy—and with lasting, empowering results.
Where your attention goes, your energy flows.
So what seeds are you planting?
Right now, take a moment and follow these steps:
-
Get clear on what you want.
-
Write it down.
-
Choose thoughts that align with that outcome.
-
Feel good about it—attach strong, positive emotion.
-
Repeat those thoughts often. Nourish them.
Commit to it now—not later.
Later is where dreams go to die.
Now is all you have.
And remember: you are the gardener of your life.
Choose your seeds well.
What you plant with intention, and nurture with emotion, will grow.
