The Science of Wealth and Success - Part I of III

guest posts law of cause and effect Jul 31, 2008

By Cameran Hadlock

My purpose in writing this three-part article is simple:
To teach you that success and wealth are not mysterious. They’re not reserved for the lucky or the few. There is an exact science to achieving them.

So what is this science?

It’s the understanding that success and wealth are governed by certain laws—specific, universal laws that must be understood, obeyed, and applied. And when they’re applied properly, they must produce the desired result. Every time.

How is this science applied?
Through the proper use of your thoughts.

Let me explain.

Everything in life has a cause. And every result or condition—whether it's wealth, success, health, or struggle—is simply an effect of some cause.
That means success is not an accident.
It is a result.
It’s predictable.
It’s reproducible.

If you understand and repeat the exact cause, you will get the exact effect.

Here’s a simple illustration:
If you plant a watermelon seed, you don’t wonder what’s going to grow.
You don’t expect corn, or cucumbers, or roses.
You know what the outcome will be.
The seed guarantees the fruit. That’s the Law of Cause and Effect in motion.

This law governs every area of our lives. Nothing happens by chance. Everything—past, present, or future—is the effect of some cause.
And every cause?
It's a choice we made, or didn’t make.
An action we took, or didn’t take.

Imagine a stick.
One end represents the cause, the other the effect.
If on one end it says“Good Employment.” the other end might say “Responsibility.”
The job wasn’t luck—it was an effect of the cause.

Now flip the example.
One end says “Drank 6 cans of beer.”
The other end? “Very drunk.”
You may want the outcome to be “sober,” but when you choose the cause, you automatically choose the effect.
You can’t pick up one end of the stick without also picking up the other. That’s the law.

Now, think about this in your own life.
What’s one example where your choices (your causes) directly led to a result (an effect), whether positive or negative?

And if there’s something you want to create in your life—a goal, a change, a breakthrough—then your next step is to identify the cause connected to that outcome.

So where do you find it?

Here’s the secret:
It’s closer than you think.
But it’s camouflaged.
The cause is in your thoughts.
In the way you think, the beliefs you act on, and the paradigms through which you view the world.

Want a different result?
You must begin by planting different thoughts.

So let’s get practical.

Right now, write down three things you want in your life.
Then, decide:
What thoughts would naturally cause those things to happen?

Don’t stop at the surface. Go deeper.
What beliefs would support those outcomes?
What new patterns of thought must take root?

Do it now.
Because once the seed is planted…
The harvest is inevitable.
