The Squeeze

When we want something with all our heart and mind—when every fiber of our being is wrapped up in the desire—we experience a flood of emotion along the way. There’s the thrill of excitement, often mingled with fear, and sometimes even a hint of dread as we imagine what life will look like when the goal is achieved and our problems are solved. We feel hopeful, maybe even giddy, believing that the future holds the fulfillment of our deepest desire.
So we get to work. We start planning, studying, problem-solving. We dive into learning, driven by passion and fueled by progress. We seek out the experts. We read the books. We follow the steps. And in those early stages, the momentum feels electric.
But then… time passes.
The goal hasn’t materialized. The excitement fades into tension. We start questioning whether this dream was ever a good idea in the first place. Still, we grit our teeth and stay determined—we will make this happen. We double down on effort. We go back to the same sources, recycle the same advice, and push even harder.
Mentally and emotionally, we tighten up. We obsess, analyze, overthink. We become like a sponge being wrung out—twisting tighter and tighter, trying to squeeze just one more drop of insight, one more solution, one more breakthrough. But eventually, we’re spent. Tired. Out of ideas. Out of breath. Ready to give up.
And then something unexpected happens.
We let go.
We stop trying to control every piece of the process. We stop demanding to know how or when it will happen. We take a deep breath and realize the only thing we truly have power over is our thoughts—the very place where everything begins.
That’s when things shift.
When we release the need to force it… when we stop clinging to old rules, rigid timelines, and limiting beliefs about what is or isn’t possible… something opens up. Our vision clears. A new path comes into view. The answers were there all along—we just couldn’t see them through the strain.
And now, with a calm mind and open heart, we can finally receive what’s been trying to reach us all this time.
It turns out, the breakthrough didn’t come from trying harder.
It came from surrender.
From trusting.
From allowing.
Letting go didn’t mean giving up.
It meant clearing space for the miracle.
