She set a simple goal, and God multiplied it

Meet Bethany Garcia, Mindset Mastery graduate. Bethany’s journey through the Mindset Mastery course is a beautiful example of how trusting God with even the smallest of details—and taking courageous steps toward bigger goals—can bring about surprising and life-changing results.
Phase 1: The “Inconsequential Goal”
Bethany set what seemed like a simple goal: “I want to be given a summer dress that fits me perfectly without any alterations needed.” She gave herself six weeks, but just two days later her husband called from a trip to say that a relative wanted to buy her a dress. The very next day, his mother offered to buy one, too!
As if that weren’t enough, three weeks later, her neighbor unexpectedly showed up at her door with another dress—exactly Bethany’s size, in the style she had envisioned, complete with the drawstring she had pictured. Bethany laughed in amazement:
“It felt like God was playing a prank on me, but in a good way.”
Through this experience, she discovered that God can multiply what we ask for, cares about even the smallest details, and uses ordinary people to accomplish His work.
Phase 2: A Bigger Stretch
Next, Bethany set a meaningful goal: “By Labor Day, I want to have contributed $500 to our Reserve Fund account.”
As a stay-at-home mom without consistent personal income, this goal felt like a big stretch. Yet, through a series of unexpected sources—including plasma donations, immediate pay from a new job, an online return, and even a forgotten check in the mail—Bethany not only reached her goal but doubled it.
On the final day, she prayed about being just $35 shy of personally contributing the full $500. That day, her boss unexpectedly paid her in cash—$55 instead of $35—leaving her with $20 more than she needed. She left with exactly what she had asked for, and then some.
Facing Fear and Breaking Through
Bethany also chose to face her fears in writing, challenging her subconscious “what ifs” until they no longer held power. But her biggest breakthrough came when she identified a personal Terror Barrier: sales.
When her 8-year-old son began selling balloons, Bethany realized that stepping into sales alongside him would stretch her beyond her comfort zone. Nervous but determined, she packed up the supplies and headed to the park with her children. Though her son only sold two balloons that day, Bethany knew she had broken through a barrier.
“This wasn’t so much about making a certain amount of money, but about stretching and developing my character.”
Her Advice for Others Facing Fear
“Believe that God is the source of all your supply and you are simply His hands. Take action, even if it’s only choosing to change your thoughts in a certain moment. My action may not give me the result I initially thought or expected, but it shows God that I am willing and ready to play a part in bringing about my dreams, and that I am ready to receive.”
