Rabbits, or Yeah-Buts?
Nov 25, 2008
Read The Jackrabbit Factor. It’s fun, it’s free, and since 2005, it’s helped thousands of people achieve their goals.
If you’ve already read it, I recommend reading it again. You’re not the same person you were the first time. You’ll notice things you didn’t notice before—insights that went right over your head the first time will click into place now. It’ll help you rise to that next level.
As you begin thinking about your next goal, pay attention to your thoughts. Are you seeing the rabbit (as described in The Jackrabbit Factor)? Or are you seeing only the obstacles—listing all the reasons it won’t work for you?
Are you focused on the rabbit, or do you catch yourself saying, “yeah, but…”?
Do you see beyond the wall, trusting there’s a way through? Or are you just staring at the wall itself?
Share this idea of “yeah-buts vs. rabbits” with your friends. Invite them to call you out when you're chasing “yeah-buts” instead of rabbits—and be willing to do the same for them.
Together, we can beat back the pull of mediocrity, rise above our challenges, find the silver lining in every adversity, and ultimately become who we were meant to be. We all need people in our corner who will hold us to our highest good.
Hunting season is open. It’s time to go after the rabbits—and leave the “yeah-buts” behind.
They’re much too gamey, anyway.
