Making “Sense” of It- Journal Epiphany

In my college English class, I had a professor who encouraged us to write by focusing on a moment—a snapshot of our lives—and to describe it using all five senses. Years later, while traveling, I realized that if I chose to engage all of my senses during an experience, it helped me create a much stronger memory I could carry with me.
I remember an adventure in Puerto Rico: the smell of exotic flowers in the air, the chill of water on my skin, a delightful breeze brushing past as the sun kissed my shoulders. I heard the rush of water over rocks and the laughter of friends. I took in a magical landscape with my eyes and tasted the salty moisture floating in the air. That experience has stayed with me. I can recall it in an instant—fully, vividly, and with deep emotion.
As I’ve learned more about the Law of Vibration over the past few years, I’ve sometimes struggled to understand how to match my vibration to what I want. One day while browsing YouTube, I came across a talk by Gregg Braden. He was discussing the secrets of prayer, and something he said that day shifted everything for me.
Gregg explained that the word "prayer" is actually a relatively modern term. In biblical times, people didn’t so much pray as they communed with God. He told a story about his Native American friend in New Mexico, who once invited him to pray during a severe drought.
Gregg described going with him to a sacred place, where he watched his friend remove his shoes and stand barefoot on the earth, hands drawn together in front of him. He stood silently for just a few seconds—then turned to Gregg and asked if he was hungry.
Gregg, confused, asked, “Didn’t you invite me here to pray for rain?”
His friend replied, “We are not praying for rain. At the moment we are asking for something, we are affirming that it does not exist now.”
He then explained what he had actually done in those few silent moments: he felt his toes digging into the wet mud beneath his feet. He smelled the petrichor—the scent of rain on dry earth. He saw the corn stalks dancing in the wind. He heard rain hitting the ground. He tasted the moist air.
In that moment, he experienced the rain—not as something distant, but as if it were happening right then. That’s how he prayed.
I realized then that I’d already been using this technique to create lasting memories—engaging my senses deeply during powerful moments. But now I could see how to use that same ability to create what I desire.
It’s conscious creation.
Through Rare Faith and Leslie Householder, I’ve learned how to “submit my order to the Master Chef.” Now I know how to taste it, smell it, see it, hear it, and feel it—as I place my order. Not in a state of lack, but in full alignment with the reality I choose to receive.
