After 28 years of pouring my heart and energy into my business, I hit a wall. I had been in hardcore provider mode for far too long and was completely burned out. But I had accomplished several major life goals—my biggest dreams had come true. It was time to rest, breathe, and enjoy what I had created. Thanks to my amazing husband, I could finally take that break, with his full love and encouragement.

By November 2019, the rest had done its job. I started to feel a holy discontent, a stirring—like God was nudging me toward something new. I had enjoyed music, watercolor, and travel, but I could feel something else calling. It wasn’t about the money anymore. For the first time, I wasn’t worried or driven by financial need. It was liberating, and I wanted to move forward mindfully, not just rush into something for the sake of being busy.

I began praying about what God wanted me to do with this new chapter of my life. That’s when the opportunity came to go through Leslie Householder’s Mindset Mastery course—and I felt strongly impressed to say yes and pursue certification to teach her materials.

At first, I was a bit confused. I had already achieved the big goals: financial peace, a fulfilling marriage, and a life I loved. I didn’t feel like I had a pressing need to use the principles again. So why revisit them?

That’s when the deeper question emerged:
“What drives you when you already have everything you ever wanted?”

I joined the Mindset Mastery course with the intention of discovering my life purpose—whatever God wanted it to look like. For my first goal assignment, I decided I wanted to attract someone God wanted me to help. Someone who needed what I could uniquely offer through my SimplyHealed™ training, my life experience, and the hard-won lessons from losing and regaining my dreams.

God answered that prayer. That one person lit something inside me. I remembered how much joy I felt when I was using my gifts to truly serve.

So I asked again. I wrote this statement and read it daily for a week:

I am so happy and grateful that God is entrusting one of His children to me to be there for them. I am able to calm their fears, give them a safe place to be heard, give them an eternal perspective, help them believe in themselves, and trust God and the Savior so they can be at peace, feel God’s love, and know their next best step. I love seeing and hearing the transformation in their voice and demeanor as they come to this place of hope and clarity. To assist this person, I employ my SimplyHealed™ and music skills, and the things I have learned from my life experiences. I am thrilled that God is bringing this person to me by Saturday, January 18, 2020.”

I had already received one person like this. Now I was asking for another—maybe more. I told God I was available and ready to help whoever needed what I had to offer.

Nothing really happened until Friday. That morning, I had a strong spiritual nudge to log on to Facebook and send a simple, casual message to anyone who stood out:
"Hi, I was thinking of you. How have you been?"
I sent nine messages.

Five people responded right away. Three of them were going through deeply difficult challenges I had known nothing about. They all asked for prayers—but nothing beyond that.

That night, just before bed, I saw a new message from one of the nine. I didn’t open it then, but I checked it the next morning—Saturday, January 18.

She was going through a hard time and was inviting friends to pray and fast with her that weekend. She ended with, “I'd also love to talk to you sometime, whenever it works out.”

I told her I’d fast with her, and we set up a time to talk the next evening. Our conversation was exactly what I had envisioned. I was able to use my life experience, the laws of thought, SimplyHealed™, and even composed a custom piece of music for her to anchor the healing work we did. I emailed her the MP3.

That experience clarified everything for me. It was a turning point that catalyzed my current work: my book, my courses, and the framework I now use to serve others. It helped me define my purpose and recognize the pattern I could replicate to continue blessing lives.

Here’s what I learned:

  • There are people around us who are struggling, and we don’t even know it—until we reach out.

  • When the Spirit nudges, act. Quickly.

  • I couldn’t just sit back and say, “Send me someone.” I had to do my part. It was simple, but still required action.

  • People receive only what they’re willing to ask for. Of the nine people I messaged, I was ready to serve every single one. But some only asked for prayers—so that’s what I gave.
The one who asked to talk received everything I had to offer.

As Leslie says, “What you want is looking for you.”
But it can’t give you what you need if you don’t ask specifically.
