Lick Your Cinnamon Roll Before you Eat It

Have you ever imagined a hot, gooey cinnamon roll—just dripping with icing—and suddenly realized you needed one? My son John says that imagining delicious food is 85% of cooking. And according to the Law of Perpetual Transmutation, that cinnamon roll has to exist in your mind before it can exist on your plate as a warm, sticky mess of yumminess.
Let’s face it—we all have to cook, pay someone else to cook, or starve. That’s just life. So why is that last 15%—the part where we actually make the thing—so hard? Okay, it’s not hard if you’re paying someone to do it for you. But when I asked John why he didn’t just make the cinnamon rolls he was dreaming about, he gave me three limiting beliefs you might relate to:
-
It’s too hard.
-
It takes too much time.
-
I’m tired and I’d rather do it later.
Yep. Limiting beliefs are like sticky-fingered dream thieves—they swipe that cinnamon roll right out of your hands and put it back into the cloud of “maybe someday.” That sweet, melty treat stays locked in your head, never making it to your taste buds.
To actually create the cinnamon roll, we’re going to need help from a few more universal laws.
Let’s start with the Law of the Vacuum: If I want to bake, the sink has to be empty. You can’t pile new dirty dishes on top of old ones and expect magic to happen. So—step one—make room.
Next up? The Law of Gestation. Even once the kitchen is clean and the ingredients are out, the rolls won’t appear instantly. I’ve got to mix, knead, let the dough rise… and wait. If I get impatient, I could ruin the whole thing. The dough needs time. So does your dream. Patience, my friend.
Now, John insists he can make anything with a list of ingredients and a recipe. I, lovingly, disagree. He might still need a skill or two. When I first made cinnamon rolls, I had to use my observation skills to figure out how to replicate that signature Cinnabon swirl. The dough needed to be rich and high in fat—more pastry than bread. Where did I learn that? Through trial and error.
That’s the Law of Cause and Effect in action.
And when those rolls come out of the oven? If they didn’t burn this time, I’m throwing a personal victory parade. That’s the Law of Relativity: sure, they might not be Pinterest-perfect, but compared to last time? I’ll take the win.
Then there’s that smell—oh, that intoxicating, cinnamon-sugar smell that fills the house right before they’re done. That’s the Law of Vibration. The scent literally transmits the image of a cinnamon roll from my oven into everyone else’s brain through their sense of smell. Suddenly, the whole house wants one.
And you know what? That happy, delicious, warm-fuzzy feeling you get when you think about biting into a fresh cinnamon roll? That’s vibration too. You’re literally raising your emotional frequency—tuning yourself to joy. And when you do that? It’s only a matter of time before the cinnamon roll appears. In your kitchen. On your plate. Or handed to you by someone who just happens to be in the same yummy vibe.
So next time you crave something—whether it’s a cinnamon roll, a dream, or a breakthrough—remember: It all starts in your mind. Let go of the limiting beliefs, clean the metaphorical sink, have a little patience, and tune in to the frequency of joy.
And then... dig in.
