Every Lesson Learned Is A Win

mastery student spotlight Aug 05, 2025

Meet Mark Beach, Mindset Mastery Honors Graduate. Mark’s journey through Mindset Mastery exemplifies the power of small, intentional goals. His experiences demonstrate how applying mindset principles can create meaningful changes in everyday life. Through methodical progress and overcoming fears, he shows that even the simplest goals can lead to profound achievements.

Starting Small: Exploring Inconsequential Goals

Mark’s Phase 1 experiment involved setting multiple, inconsequential goals to explore the impact of mindset principles. His first goal was to accelerate a bank transfer.

“I wanted a bank transfer to land in my account sooner than the bank said it would. I wanted to know how applying these principles could influence a power outside myself and outside my power.”

To his surprise, the transfer arrived three days early, demonstrating how applying Rare Faith principles can influence seemingly uncontrollable factors.

He also set a goal to receive three survey responses in one day.

“Normally I will get one every 2-3 days, I wanted to see again how these powers work outside my own ability to control the outcome.”

To his surprise, all three responses arrived on the same day.

Mark’s most ambitious goal was to have his wife ask him out on a date.

“I wanted my wife to ask ME on a date, which is something she would never do under normal circumstances, just to see what would happen if she did. She asked me out for dinner and a movie, again something she does not particularly enjoy. However, when a movie came along, she wanted to see, she asked me out on a date.”

Mark’s experience illustrates the potential fulfillment from setting simple goals in mindset work. By focusing on straightforward, everyday aspirations—like a date with his wife, with just the right amount of unattachment to the outcome—he demonstrated how these small, seemingly trivial objectives can yield significant, positive results and offer valuable insights into the effectiveness of mindset principles.

Achieving Meaningful Milestones

In Phase 2, Mark set a more significant goal:

“To work through a training program, I purchased to set up and sell a training program I am developing. The first two modules have about ten lessons with ten short-term goals. Throughout this course I have completed 19 of those 20 bite-sized pieces, and I'm only days away from completing the 20th. I have also successfully punched through my terror barrier with these steps.”

This approach that Mark took, systematically working through smaller, manageable goals, accumulates into substantial progress, ultimately leading to major accomplishments. By focusing on incremental steps, it allows us to build a solid foundation that supports larger, more ambitious outcomes.

Mark experienced this, and in his words:

“These bite-sized pieces are all critical to the process of setting up my own leadership training course and promoting it online. Without them, it would be impossible to get my course set up and operational, as well as offer and sell the course online that I am developing.”

Overcoming Fears and Confronting Barriers

Mark, as we all are at some point, was faced with an opportunity to confront his fears. He shared that one of his fears was not having enough resources to pay off his business loans. To face it head-on, Mark wrote in his journal, and shared an excerpt from it with me:

"...yes, I have prayed. I feel the Holy Ghost confirm I have set a worthy goal.

I feel it in my thoughts - idea

I feel it in my soul - spiritual confirmation

I feel it in my body - physical vibration - excitement

And I am terrified - Terror Barrier

I will use this writing and prayer to break through the terror barrier.

With regard to my four-week goal of starting my organic selling, I have acknowledged my terror barrier.

I will use my training and writings to step through the terror barrier.

I will use the power of prayer to step through the terror barrier.

I will lean on my coach to step through the terror barrier.

I will consciously use all the laws to step through the terror barrier.

I will lean into my 'why' to step through the terror barrier.

I remember every experience and every lesson learned is a win, and wins are what get me closer to my goals. I use them properly.”

Mark’s journal reflects his battle with fear and the terror barrier. He acknowledged the fear of not having enough resources or making necessary sales, but he faced the challenges head-on. By combining prayer, writing, and a strong focus on his 'why,' Mark successfully navigated his fears. He wrote:

“I set up a sales team, and delegated the parts of the sales funnel that I am not comfortable doing myself. I am helping them, training them. and even jumping into the process myself when I am needed. I feel a lot more confident in the team's ability to make these sales.”

Advice for Others Facing Fear

For those facing their own fears, Mark advises:

“1. Work on eliminating the programs and limiting beliefs that are holding you back.

 2. Analyze your beliefs and what is causing the terror.

 3. Determine if the activities that are causing your terror can be achieved in some other way, ie) automation, delegation, or a combination of the [those]. It's ok if some things are not in your wheelhouse. Get them off your plate so that you can focus on your strengths.”

Mark’s journal entry from above captures the essence of his experience: "Every experience and every lesson learned is a win, and wins are what get me closer to my goal."

This mindset, focused on incremental progress and overcoming fears, is essential.

Thank you, Mark, for the reminder that every challenge faced and conquered is ultimately just one step closer to reaching our goals!
